Detecting your time zone…

Check the time anywhere in the world

Type a city name — Tokyo, Paris, São Paulo, Cairo — and this tool shows its current local time using your device's built-in time zone data, corrected for daylight saving automatically. No lookup tables, no manual UTC offset math.

Need to convert a specific time rather than just check "now"? Use the dedicated time zone converter instead.

Does this account for daylight saving time automatically?

Yes — it uses your browser's built-in time zone database, which keeps daylight saving rules up to date for every zone.

How accurate is it?

It's as accurate as your device's system clock, which is normally synced to an internet time server.

Can I compare two cities at once?

You can pin one city here to see it update live, and check your own local time at the top of the page at the same time. For converting a specific time between two zones, use the time zone converter.

A named zone is more useful than a fixed offset

A city keeps the same zone name while its UTC offset may change during the year. London, for example, uses a different offset in summer than in winter. This page displays the current instant from your device in each supported zone; it does not independently synchronize your device.

The search uses a curated list of cities rather than a location database covering every town. Choose a nearby city only if it follows the same time-zone rules. For a future appointment, use the converter with the appointment date. Current offsets are not a reliable substitute for future rules.
